A great way to spruce up your home is to give it an innovative Western window treatment, ideas for which have been mentioned here. Go through them and pick your winner.
What comes to your mind when you hear the words 'the West'? Wild horses running around, cowboys with their tight leather pants and signature hats, The Good The Bad and The Ugly signature tune, and a lot more for sure.
If you're as big a fan of the Wild Wild West as you claim to be, then in your home redecorating project you're sure to want to include a glimpse of this passion, right? So, how about some Western window treatment ideas to liven up the windows and give your home a countrified appearance? Well then, just read ahead for some of them! Enjoy!

Desert Print

If it's a kids' room you're decorating and you want to give it a playful, yet authentic Western window treatment, then you can have curtains made in a light, sand-colored fabric. On these curtains, you can have some interesting artwork done.
In keeping with the Western theme, you can have various desert elements splashed across the curtains. For instance, you can show cowboys on horses running across the desert yielding guns. You may decorate the room with accessories that match with the curtains. You can also have various Saguaro cactus bushes drawn at regular intervals.
Ensure that the Saguaro cactus is drawn on the curtains in a way that when the curtains are drawn across the window, it looks like a complete Wild West scene!

Traditional Floral Curtains

A Western themed room calls for going back to one's roots. Roots translate to a traditional approach to the whole thing. So, why not incorporate this traditional look and feel in the window treatments as well?
If you have a room with a lot of wooden influence in it, say wooden floors, wooden furniture, etc., then what better to adorn the windows with, than some good old-fashioned floral curtains?
Now pay heed that these curtains should ideally be of a thick fabric and should have the whole valances and frills deal. But if you cannot or do not want all that fuss, you can also settle for sheer curtains, with a slightly heavier floral one behind it. Simple, yet traditional.

Blinds

If traditional is not your cup of tea, and you're more into a modern approach to your home decorating, but you still want to have an element of the West in your room, then blinds are the perfect way to go for you. They're not ultra traditional nor are they ultra modern.
They're somewhere in between and suit your Western themed room perfectly. One thing that you will need to pay attention to, however, is the color of the blinds that you select. White is the most sought after color, but you may want to keep your mind a little more open and look around for colors like light brown. They give your room a more Western look.
Also, you can opt for a set of blinds that has pictures drawn on them. Go for a desert theme like a saloon with gun toting cowboys in it or something of that variation. Or if you have the time, the talent and the inclination, you can make a project out of it and paint a picture on it yourself. And when you draw the blinds, your art will be displayed to all!

Eco-Friendly

Want to do your bit for the environment, do you? And at the same time, you want to give your room a Western look, is it? Don't worry. It's not impossible. Browse online and you'll get a whole lot of options for eco-friendly window treatments.
The rage among these are the hand woven shades that many home improvement stores and decorating stores have. They're made from different fabrics and have a very earthy feel about them. For a Western themed window treatment, the colors have to be warm, and rustic.
So, look for hand woven fabric shades like cream, beige, light brow, light orange, or going to the darker side, shades like deep red, burnt orange, and dark brown. These curtains have a very light weight and easy to breathe through fabric which lets in the air easily so you can enjoy the breeze from outside as well.
Well, those were some ideas that you can use to give your windows a rustic, outdoorsy, Western treatment. Be creative and accentuate your beautiful windows with any of these ideas. They're sure to add a dash of elegance and flavor to your home.
